IUD, hormonal (NovaSure, Mirena, Skyla) and non-hormonal (copper, Paragard), inserted by a doctor in the office or clinic - Intrauterine device, a small birth control device, often shaped like a “T” that goes in the uterus. After insertion, there is no action for 3 to 5 years depending on the brand, before removing or replacing.
